A real opportunity to advance global trade now beckons
Since the advent of GPS over thirty years ago, the idea of monitoring vast fleets of mobile, industrial objects has been an obvious one. TradeTech forerunners like Nexxiot harness this potential with hardware and a secure platform which brings prime asset and cargo data to life.

It’s worth remembering that Silicon Valley originally took its name from a ‘hardware’ bedrock of computing, the silicon wafer chip. Original innovators like Microsoft and IBM made desktop PC’s and computer infrastructure. Physical devices – Hardware. These desktop computers were sold into every home, college and workplace the world over, opening the door to ongoing software sales of products like Windows 1,2,3,…and onwards, until Apple took center stage with its more desirable user experience. But then software was favored in the shift to the cloud and hardware became neglected.

The world of supply chain and transportation is changing forever
The people who make the supply chain work have been underserved. They work in tough, physical, and sometimes dangerous conditions, with adverse weather and heavy moving parts. Vital cargo winds its way around the world to where it’s needed, thanks to their resilience and dedication to solving problems. Their real problem, however, is that information is in silos and they don’t have the right tools to hand. A new hardware layer is required.

Nexxiot now moves forward to equip millions of essential supply chain assets like Hapag Lloyd’s fleet of dry Intermodal Containers, Tank Containers, European and North American Rail rolling-stock and related logistics subsystems. Our clients are armed with real-time, prime asset and cargo data, gathered directly from the source. As a result, data aggregators are being disrupted and silos will soon be a thing of the past.
